Preparation (by customer)
- Provide a structural opening and load-bearing substructure according to the roof structure.
- Ensure the substrates in the connection area are clean, dry, and dust-free.
Sealing & Connection (with installation kit)
- Apply glazing/foam tape stress-free to the intended support surface.
- Apply sealant all around according to the processing instructions.
- Integrate the roof connection (flashing/connecting tape) system-compatibly into the roof waterproofing.
Important note
- The installation according to the installation and maintenance manual is crucial for the watertightness and performance of the roof window.

Step by Step: Installing the Upstand, Sealing it, and Preparing the Roof Window
With the right installation kit, connection to the upstand and roof sealing becomes predictable: sealant, glazing tape, and connection material are coordinated in the kit – for a clean, continuous seal.
Note: Screws/fasteners and on-site sealing membranes (e.g., EPDM/bitumen/foil) are not automatically part of every kit, depending on the roof structure.
Prepare components
Lay out all set components ready for use. Ensure surfaces in the connection area are clean, dry, and load-bearing.
Check upstand/opening
Construct upstand / substructure according to roof structure and check for evenness. Account for tolerances for stress-free installation.
Apply glazing tape
Place the structural glazing tape stress-free and all-around on the intended support surface – as a defined, damping support.
Apply sealant
Apply sealant all around according to manufacturer's instructions. Ensure clean joints, sufficient layer thickness, and continuous sealing.
Install roof connection
Integrate the connecting strip/flashing system-appropriately into the roof waterproofing so that water is safely drained and the connection remains permanently sealed.
Install skylights
Install, align, and seal the roof window according to the installation instructions. For warranty and watertightness requirements, installation according to the manual is decisive.
